ATLANTA — No. 4 Ohio State leads No. 1 Georgia 28-24 at halftime of the college football playoff semifinal at the Peach Bowl. The Bulldogs found themselves in a 21-7 hole midway through the second quarter, but put together 17 straight points to take the lead with just under 2 minutes left in halftime. Quarterback CJ Stroud led the Buckeyes on a 75-yard drive in just four plays, resulting in a 37-yard touchdown run to Xavier Johnson that gave OSU the lead at halftime.

The story thus far has been the play of both offenses. The Bulldogs have 313 total yards and are averaging 9.8 yards per play, while the Buckeyes have 248 and 7.8 yards per play. Stroud is 15 of 19 for 238 yards and three touchdowns, which shows why he’s a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist.

There are two injury notes to be aware of. Georgia was no longer without starting right tackle Warren McClendon, who suffered a leg injury in the SEC Championship Game. He also lost tight end Darnell Washington to an ankle injury; His return is questionable with Washington ruled out before further evaluation at halftime.
