The Glasgow Warriors have terminated Rufus McLean’s contract after the Scotland international pleaded guilty in court to domestic abuse.

“Rufus admitted to domestic abuse and his actions cannot be forgiven, which resulted in the termination of his employment with the Glasgow Warriors,” Glasgow Warriors managing director Al Kellock said.

“We have taken this matter very seriously. Unfortunately, in every crime there is a victim and as a club we want to recognize the impact on the young woman involved.”

McLean has the right to appeal Glasgow’s decision.
