Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman reveals the secret of Atalanta’s scoring streak

Ademola Lookman is Atalanta’s in-form player, scoring the winner in two of her last three matches

The 24-year-old attacker has been in imperious form for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, scoring in his last three Serie A games against Fiorentina, Udinese and Sassuolo.

Lookman’s three goals have given Atalanta six points from the last three matches, with the club now second on record, two points behind Napoli.

Lookman has settled in well at Atalanta after completing a permanent move to the Italian club from German side RB Leipzig in this summer transfer window.

Discussing his recent scoring streak, the Super Eagles striker explained that he feels settled at Atalanta after playing on loan for three of the last four seasons.

lookman said sky italy:: “I am very happy to be here, I feel very settled in the squad and in the city. I am enjoying my football. May it continue for a long time!”

Lookman’s last goal helped Atalanta to a 2-1 home victory over Sassuolo, giving them 24 points out of a possible 30 so far and momentarily lifting them to the top of the record.

Following his unbeaten start to the league, the Super Eagles forward urged his teammates to take the league one game at a time and see how it goes from there.

“It was another tough game against another tough opponent, we’re happy to get all three points. The guys put in a lot of effort and it was a tough performance,” Lookman explained.

“Obviously that’s a long way off. Like I said before, we’re taking it game by game, we’ve been doing it and getting results. We’re happy to be top of the table for now and then we’ll see how time goes by.”

Atalanta will return to action on Sunday, October 23 when they take on fifth-placed Lazio at Gewiss Stadium at 5:00pm Nigerian time.
