Fintech startup ‘muvin’ welcomes Finmania to Pune schools

Pune: Fintech startup “muvin” hosted FinMania, a money olympics for over 5000 students from Class 7 to Class 12. The Bishop’s School (Camp), The Bishop’s Co-ed School (Kalyaninagar), City International School and Junior College and Silver Crest School, among other students at the school, participated in the initiative to empower students with digital financial literacy and inclusion. Students will be tested on their financial literacy levels through offline and online exams, followed by zoned exams and the final, with winning prizes of up to $10 lakhs. Mukund Rao, co-founder of “muvin”, said: “Indian teenagers are becoming financially independent, more than ever. As young consumers, they are opinionated when it comes to their personal lives and the decisions they make, whether it’s related to gadgets, fashion, food, or travel. Partnering with over 200 schools in India for the Olympics has brought us closer to our vision of empowering India’s 200 million teens with financial inclusion and literacy.”

Poona AgroCart startup onboards 1000 farmers for fresh produce

Pune: Agritech e-commerce startup “Poona AgroCart” has onboarded more than 1,000 farmers from the Pune region and plans to source fresh produce from about 10,000 farmers in the next six months. The company has also developed applications in B2B, B2C and farmer level applications. “Poona AgroCart”, markets fresh agricultural products, mainly fresh fruits and vegetables, using infrastructure approved by the Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Authority (APEDA). The startup started operating out of its Manjari office recently.

Lanka Sivakumar Reddy, CEO, “Poona AgroCart” said, “We want to create an impact on Indian agriculture, farmers’ economy and customer satisfaction with our model of innovation, transparency and fast delivery.”

Wolters Kluwer opens innovation center in Yerawada

Pune: Wolters Kluwer inaugurated its new office and innovation center at Shastri Nagar in Yerawada. With a seating capacity of 1,100 and contemporary collaboration spaces, the facility promotes innovation and collaboration. The current strength of employees primarily comprises local talent through software engineers, managers and support staff serving the tax and accounting segment.

India is among the key markets for Wolters Kluwer, with offices in Pune operating since 2012. Karen Abramson, Wolters Kluwer CEO (Tax & Accounting), said: “We have the best technology talent and it is wonderful to see our employees excited about a exciting new space. Niva Bupa to Onboard 5,000 Consulting Agents in Pune

Pune: Health insurance provider Niva Bupa aims to work around the clock $Gross written premium of Rs 95 crore for FY23-24 and onboarding of 5000 consulting agents in Pune in the next two years. Niva Bupa is marking her entry into Hadapsar with a goal to go $Rs 5 crore gross premium written over the next five years and will attract around 5000 people from Hadapsar into the field of health cover by FY26-27. As part of its growth plans in Maharashtra, Niva Bupa consolidated its position in the region with a steady 74% growth in retail business in the last two years and expanded to 14 cities in Maharashtra, including seven offices in Mumbai, Amravati , Jalna , Yavatmal etc.
