Brighton and Nottingham Forest shared the spoils with the trio firing blanks

Date:

The Seagulls dominated another game, but remain without their goal boots for the third consecutive Premier League game.

Brighton remained in a boring goalless affair with bottom-of-the-table Nottingham Forest at the Amex on Tuesday night.

The Super Eagles duo of Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis were in the stadium, but Awoniyi made it onto the pitch.

The 24-year-old was a second-half substitute but failed to add to his goal tally this season as compatriot Dennis watched the game from the bench.

Awoniyi entered with just four minutes remaining and had no time to make a significant impact for the Tricky Reds.

Brighton were the better side of the night but once again couldn’t make it worth their while after another goalless performance.

The home team had 70% of the possession, 19 attempts and created three big chances, but couldn’t find a way to get past one of the most leaky defenses in the league.

Midfielder Leandro Trossard was the focus of the Seagulls’ first-division fantasy coaches.

However, it ended in heartbreak as the Belgian failed to reward his owners after firing on target despite four attempts on the Nottingham Forest goal.

While coach Ze Zerbi believed his team could win the game before kick-off, it was not meant to be as they failed to score for the third game in a row.

The Italian will have to wait a bit longer to record his first win as manager since taking over from Graham Potter.

Ranking-wise, a share of the loot hardly changes much for either side. Brighton remain seventh, while Nottingham Forest moved up to 19th.
