Broncos score vs. Chargers: Live Updates, Game Stats, Highlights, ‘Monday Night Football’ Live Stream

Date:

The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers are battling it out at SoFi Stadium for second place in the AFC West. While Russell Wilson and company started the season very slowly, that was not the case on Monday night. Denver scored 10 points on its first two drives of the game, including a 39-yard touchdown reception by rookie tight end Greg Dulcich, who is playing in his first career NFL game.

Justin Herbert didn’t let the Broncos keep the momentum going for long, however, as he engineered a 15-play, 82-yard drive in which LA converted four third downs en route to an Austin Ekeler touchdown to cut the deficit to three points. On the Chargers’ final drive of the first half, an injured Dustin Hopkins was able to convert a 37-yard field goal to tie the game at 10 apiece. As soon as we thought we were heading into the halftime break with a tied score, Wilson found KJ Hamler running down the field for a 47-yard gain with less than a minute left. That big play set up a 27-yard field goal by Brandon McManus that gave Denver the lead just before halftime.

The way the Broncos and Chargers started the 2022 campaign wasn’t ideal, but there’s plenty of football left to play, and a division win under prime-time lights could fuel a run to a postseason berth. Will the Chargers find a way to earn their third straight win, or will the Broncos get back on track with their first division win of the season? Follow us on the live blog below as we break down this matchup as it happens.
