Osimhen faces stiff competition from Raspadori, Simeone and Kvaratskhelia in attacking Napoli
The 47-year-old former Italian international weighed in on the advantages of Osimhen and Raspadori for the Napoli side after both players’ impressive start to the season.
Osimhen has made an encouraging start to the 2022/23 season, scoring four (4) goals in eight (8) matches despite being out injured for nearly four weeks.
Raspadori plays with both feet – Bellucci
However, Bellucci believes Italian striker Raspadori is more suitable for Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli due to his ability to play with the ball.
The former Cagliari assistant coach admitted Raspadori often reminds him of his playing days due to their shared ability to use both feet.
Bellucci said in Calcio Napoli live: “They tell me that Raspadori plays like me, I like how he moves. He’s doing very well, he’s natural with both feet.
“The return of Osimhen is a strong point, we have seen the anger with which he marked Ajax. At the moment I see Raspadori more functional than what Spaletti wants because he makes the team play”.
Bellucci prefers Osimhen for counterattacks
However, Bellucci also noted that Osimhen is the best player when Napoli want to play counter-attacking football due to the Nigerian’s ability to press and attack from deep positions.
“So if you want to defend yourself and start again from the back, Osimhen is perfect. I would always like someone like him, who attacks from deep, to be on my team,” Belluci said.
Osimhen has scored two (2) goals in his last two games for Napoli and hopes to continue his scoring streak when Napoli play AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday 23rd October.
