Death of Afuye, colossal loss – Ekiti’s Lawbringer

The representative legislator ekiti SouthWest Constituency 2 in the State House of Assembly, Mr. Joseph Olatunjihas described the death of the late Speaker of the House, Mr. Funminiyi Afuyeas a great loss to the courtesy of legislators.

The Congress of All Progressives,(APC) chieftain and chairman of the House Committee on Youth and Sports Development, affirmed this in a condolence message signed by himself on Saturday, in Ado-Ekiti.

He described the death of the late speaker as a shock, saying that he still did not believe that a human, selfless and patriotic citizen of Ekiti would have gone any further.

He explained that the late speaker of the sixth assembly’s leadership style since its inauguration in June 2019 had made Ekiti’s legislative arms set the tone in the law-making business.

“Late Afuye will be forever missed by one and all, particularly in the Ekiti APC family.

“The void left by the sudden death of the late speaker will take a long time to fill,” the lawmaker said.

He further said that Afuye was a mentor, a teacher, a very humble personality, and a father figure to all of us during his life.

Therefore, he took pity on the Ekiti Government led by the Governor. Biodun OyebanjiPeople of Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti South Senatorial District, friends and family of the late Afuye.

He prayed that Almighty God grant the courtesy of the Nigerian Speakers Forum, members of the state House of Assembly, the strength to bear the loss.

The Nigerian News Agency recalls that the late Speaker of the Ekiti Assembly died on the night of Wednesday, October 19, after a short illness.
