Date:

The Handlifters Praying Group recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with a prayer of thanksgiving and intercession for the nation and its leaders at the palace of the traditional ruler of Onigbongbon, Maryland, Lagos, Oba Oluwasegun Adeyemi Ajasa.

Christians, Muslims and traditionalists participated in the event. The group also donated food, such as rice, gari, indomie, among others, to those most in need.

The guest speaker, General Apostle Anselm Madubuko, used the occasion to preach for a united Nigeria and for people to live a pious life.

The coordinator of the Handlifters prayer group, Pastor Chinyere Adegboye, revealed that the occasion was the annual thanksgiving/prophetic declarations on Nigeria and its citizens.

“We are reaching the community with food. We are also giving free medical check-ups and medicines, in collaboration with the Oba of Onigbongbon, Oba Oluwasegun Ajasa.”

She recalled that the group used to visit hospitals to pray for the sick and pay bills for those who couldn’t pay, before the Lord said they should also reach out to the less privileged in the community by giving them food.

Asojuoba of Onigbongbon Kingdom, High Chief Ganiyu Sadiq, said: “We are here to pray for Nigeria ahead of the upcoming elections. Let’s love ourselves. Love yourself, love God, and love your neighbor.”
