Iran censors French use of human rights for political games

Date:

In a statement issued on Monday, Nasser Kanaani criticized the French president’s interfering comments on the recent unrest in Iran.

Emmanuel Macron made those comments during a reception for a new group of so-called human rights defenders in France within the Marianne Initiative, accusing Iran of “oppressing women and girls.”

Deploring the unconstructive stance taken by Macron, Kanaani said that officials in some European countries have unfortunately reduced human rights to objects of their political games to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. “We condemn this destructive approach,” he added.

“As we have repeatedly announced, the principled policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been based on responsibility, respect and adherence to the basic principles of human rights, including the protection of human dignity, the fight against harassment and defense of the oppressed,” the spokesperson added. .

Meanwhile, fake human rights defenders are complicit in serious human rights violations because they shelter and support leaders and members of terrorist groups in their countries and keep silent about the daily slaughter of Palestinians by the murderous Zionist regime. of children and behind the aggressor and the occupier, he affirmed.

Unfortunately, France has described the reaction of Muslims to the desecration of the Holy Quran and their religious beliefs as an attack on secularism (secularism) under the pretext of defending freedom of expression, Kanaani added, the Foreign Ministry website reported. .

He stressed that France has forgotten that countering criticism of the Zionist regime constitutes a serious violation of freedom of expression.

Obviously, such contradictory behaviors and double standards are not and cannot be hidden from the free and independent nations of the world, the Iranian spokesperson concluded.
