JACKSON — The Jackson Business Development Committee will accept applications for the 2023 Jackson Business Challenge through December 30.
The five-year program is designed to attract new businesses to downtown Jackson by offering a prize package worth more than $20,000.
“The Jackson Business Challenge has been a great undertaking for Jackson,” said Jackson City Councilman Marcus Polz. “The business challenge really helps provide that momentum during that critical first year of operation.”
The 2023 Jackson Business Challenge will follow the same guidelines as previous programs, with three rounds: business concept, detailed business plan, and oral presentation. The deadline for the first round is December 30.
The prize package valued at over $20,000 will consist of grant funds, rental assistance, free marketing, accounting assistance, legal assistance, internet service and more. The program is being sponsored by many local organizations and will look at the feasibility of applicants’ business plans and how they will improve downtown. Entrepreneurs, as well as current business owners in and out of Jackson, are encouraged to apply for the program.
