BOWERSVILLE — Robert Schmucker Sr., age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
Robert was the loving father of Suzanne (Leslie) Bates, Sarah Reeves, Martha “Marty” Schmucker, Erma (Donnie) Mathews, Maryann (Don) Retych, Robert (Dana) Schmucker Jr., Marie (Jason) Grum, David (Amanda) Schmucker, Joseph (Melissa) Schmucker, Cora Schmucker, and Ray (Marina) Schmucker and step -granddaughter, Marci Wise; beloved grandfather of 26; and adored great-grandfather of 11.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 12 years, Bonnie Schmucker; his mother, Martha Schmucker; and two granddaughters.
Robert loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He was a volunteer firefighter in his early years and served as fire chief in North Bloomfield. He was a truck driver for several years and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, woodworking, and watching the Cleveland Browns and OSU games. He sat on the council in Bowersville. She loved spending quality time with his granddaughter, Marci, as she meant the world to him. Robert loved to play on the computer and was an avid dog lover. He was a proud official.
Public viewings will be at 11 a.m. and the funeral service will follow on Friday, October 14, 2022 at noon at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432.
Robert will be laid to rest at 2 pm Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bowersville, Ohio.
