Wax figure of Cristiano Ronaldo presented by Madame Tussauds in Times Square, New York

While the real Ronaldo is with Portugal preparing for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a fake one is now the center of attraction in New York.

The wax figure of the Portuguese legend has been unveiled by the world’s largest wax museum, Madame Tussauds, New York.

Ronaldo’s realistic wax figure features him wearing a Portugal jersey and in his signature celebratory pose.

Ronaldo became the first athlete to achieve a “Times Square Takeover”, a feat matched exclusively by being honored with a Madame Tussauds wax figure.

The 37-year-old shared a video of the unveiling with a caption that read: “Taking over Times Square with my new wax figure and showing Portugal to the world!”

Ronaldo sent a personal message to his fans and to the cheering crowd who were there to witness it.

His face was screened alongside his native country’s destination brand, Visit Portugal, at various giants in the heart of New York City.

Powered by the CR7 himself, the audience celebrated his latest achievement by joining the GOAT in his world famous “siuuuuu” pose.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most successful soccer icons of our time, or as New Yorkers say, ‘soccer,’ and we are very excited to partner with Visit Portugal to make this special unveiling in Time Square of his wax figure ahead. . of the 2022 World Cup,” said Tiago Mogadouro, director of marketing for Madame Tussauds New York.

“We are rooting for Ronaldo as he is the captain of the Portugal national team and is welcome to experience sport here at our New York attraction,” Mogadouro concluded.

Ronaldo is currently in Qatar with the rest of the Portuguese team on international duty, where they hope to win their first FIFA World Cup.
