Enenche’s statement read in part: “Dear men and women of the countryside, following my appointment to the Labor Party campaign council, there were reactions on social media to my statement on a video shot at the scene of the #EndSARS incident at the Lekki toll gate on the 20th. October 2020. Everyone who commented was right anyway based on the information available to them and individual analysis.

“Personally and professionally, I have worked in the best interest of Nigerians based on the oath of allegiance that I swore upon receiving military service, which is sacrosanct.

“I sincerely shared the pains of that breaking news through social media, so to speak. In that regard, I want to assure everyone that further efforts will be made so that all claims can be convincingly clarified from the appropriate sources. God bless our cause for the recovery of our beloved country Nigeria”.

Obi-Datti to the rescue: Enenche further stated that his commitment to the emergence of credible leaders in 2023 convinced him to declare his support for Obi without fear, adding that he was certain that the Labor Party candidate and his running mate, Dr Yusuf Datti-Ahmedwould provide quality leadership.

Enenche’s statement added:Let us remember that I underlined the need for all conscience-bound Nigerians, regardless of social class, to join the current political exercise in the country to elect credible, competent and capable leaders in 2023.

“Also, I ordered everyone to speak up and not sit on the fence.

“Consequently, I dared to openly and objectively support the candidacy of HE Mr. Peter Obi and Dr. Yusuf Datti-Ahmed, without fear or contradiction. All based on my knowledge of the duo for approximately 17 years and 5 years respectively, who can provide quality leadership for the Nation that will ensure effective follow up.

“This is what Nigeria needs now to overcome all the many challenges imposed on the citizenry in the last two decades.
