FCT police subdue armed robbers in Kabusa area | The Guardian Nigerian News

Federal Capital Territory Police Command (FCT) officers have reportedly controlled an armed robbery incident on the outskirts of FCT Kabusa.

According to FCT Command spokeswoman DSP Josephine Adeh, the prompt police intervention followed a distress call to the Kabusa Police Division regarding an armed robbery incident in the ECWA 2 community of Kabusa Village.

Some of the exhibits recovered from the scene include a Barreta pistol, a 9mm round of live ammunition, two axes, a mobile phone and a silver whistle.

“Upon receiving the report, the police officers quickly mobilized to the place in collaboration with the locals. The thugs, spotting the police team, opened fire on them and a gun duel ensued. However, the superiority of the police shots caused one of the armed assailants to be neutralized, while others pounced with gunshot wounds, fleeing the area. Efforts are underway to arrest the fleeing cohorts.

“Two neighbors injured by the thugs were immediately taken to the hospital upon arrival in the area, where they were treated and released. The thief was likewise confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.”

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner CP Sadiq Abubakar has applauded the residents for their prompt notification and support for the police. He assured that while efforts to prevent any threat to public security are intensified, criminal incidents as such will be adequately dealt with and promptly nipped in the bud.
