Full Statement: Mohbad Responds To Naira Marley’s Claims, Says She’s Lying And It’s Disrespectful To Hide The Truth

Date:

The post garnered a lot of attention and raised a lot of eyebrows, as it wasn’t the first time the artist had gone online to talk about the record label behind his life.

Not long after his tweet surfaced online, his boss, Naira Marley, responded by saying the artist was lying. She claimed that Mohbad had a history of becoming violent whenever he was intoxicated and that’s what caused the ruckus.

Mohbad issued a full statement on Twitter yesterday, October 6, saying that the record label owner’s story is false and that it is disrespectful of him to sell the narrative that he is intoxicated every time he is assaulted.

“The events of the last two days have left indelible scars on my heart. I have always wanted to create good music and support myself and my family through my music. As a street artist, I thought the Marlian family would be a good place for me.

However, recent events and certain truths have come to light that threaten my peace, my health and my career. Due to these issues, I informed Naira Marley in the Marlian WhatsApp group chat of my intention to change my manager. This was not well received by my current Manager Tunde (Her Brother of hers).

There were instant outbursts of anger and protests from him in the chat. I went to Naira Marley’s house with my Producer and my friend on October 4, 2022 to have this conversation and come to a peaceful solution.

We were in the studio and some of the guys who work with Naira (Sid, Shuddy, Seyi and others) were present, as well as Naira and Tunde. I noticed that Tunde was quite agitated when we started the discussion. In the middle of the conversation, Tunde got violent and attacked me.

The boys he was with were also attacked, humiliated and stripped naked by Sid, Shuddy and Seyi and some of the other boys. We were barely able to escape. 3 of us had to be admitted to hospital for medical attention for injuries sustained during the assault.

Naira Marley was fully present throughout the event and actually coordinated part of the attack while ordering the guys to beat us up. Some of this was captured on video.

Therefore, it is disrespectful for Naira Marley to imply that I started the attack because I was intoxicated as he is fully aware of the facts and circumstances surrounding this violent attack.

It’s not the first time Naira has lied to push her own narrative forward, but hopefully it will be the last. I trust that justice will soon be served. Thank you for all your support”

Other artists like Bella Shmurda they also entered the discussion in response to these concerns and said that the record company had made singer Mohbad’s situation worse.

According to him, a label is not intended for that purpose and instead should encourage the growth of an artist.
