Xavi talks about Lewandowski’s dependency before Inter and Real Madrid

Date:

In Sunday’s victory, Pedri scored the only goal of the match in the first half, with Celta dominating after the break and even coming as close to equalizing on several occasions.

The win was Barcelona’s seventh and saw them return to the top of La Liga, however it left Blaugrauna manager Xavi a bit unhappy.

“We have to improve, we have to be self-critical. The first half is good, the intensity was good, we created a lot of chances and we have to kill the game. If we win the second, everything changes”. Xavi said at full time by sport.

“We were not good in the second half. We let Celta press. Perhaps it was the tiredness, the fatigue. Psychologically we went down and they had two or three clear chances against us.

“We need Lewandowski to get more involved in the game. Lewandowski was uncomfortable in the second half; frustrated because the team couldn’t find solutions. I still think he played a good match.”

“It’s a great win, but we have to be the team in the first 30 minutes to move on. If we play the way we played in the second half today, it will be difficult to beat Inter.”

“Now I’m preparing for Inter,” added Xavi. “We have to savor these three points because they are important to keep us at the top.

“El Clásico is unpredictable. Last year we had a bad time and we ended up winning 4-0. We will try to win and show character like last season”.

Barca now face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday and then travel to Real Madrid in La Liga on Sunday.
