John Givens, age 73, of New Cumberland, passed away on October 11, 2022.
Born September 12, 1949 in Weirton, West Virginia. He was the son of the late James Givens Jr. and Dorothy (Davis) Givens Richmond.
John was a retired pipe fitter from Weirton Steel. He was a member of the New Cumberland Lions Club, New Cumberland Christian Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a life member of the NRA and a member of the New Cumberland Hall of Fame.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Haynes) Givens; a son, Jason Givens; a grandson, Stephen Dulaney; and by two brothers, Ray and Tom Givens.
Three daughters survive, Michele Scarry (Jim Allison) of New Cumberland, Danette (Ralph) Jordan of Ohio, and Lori (Brian) Conner of WV. a stepdaughter, Jennie McGinnis of WV; eight grandchildren, Ashley (TJ) Crago, Justin Dulaney, Cody (Beth) Scarry, Miles McGinnis, Abby McGinnis, Tyler Conner, John Conner, and Caleb Conner; six great-grandchildren, Caidan, Ava, Wyatt, Damien, Colson, and Shelbee; two brothers, James (Randi) Givens from East Liverpool and Tim Givens from Florida; three sisters, Joyce Givens from Indiana, Debbie (Walter, who was like a brother) Burch from New Manchester, and Barb (Wayne) Kennelly from Pittsburgh; a very special nephew, Randy Burch, and also by John Kell and Terry Chamberlain.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 3 pm until funeral time at 7 pm, at Nixon Funeral Home, New Cumberland, WV.
A memorial donation can be made to the New Cumberland Lions Club or New Cumberland Christian Church.
