Date:

Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, a senior law firm with locations in State College, Williamsport, Wyalusing and Wysox, is pleased to announce the addition of Eric Young to its staff as associate attorney. Young comes to SGY with more than 18 years of experience as a Pennsylvania attorney, having been admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 2004 and having worked in several different areas of law during his career. He will work primarily from the firm’s offices in Williamsport and Wyalusing, taking client appointments in both locations, assisting clients with their long-term care and estate planning needs.

Most recently, Young was an Associate Attorney at RHP Law Group in Selinsgrove, where he worked from 2018 to 2022 primarily with clients requiring various types of estate and long-term care planning. The elder law issues he worked on included, but were not limited to, trusts, land preservation, estate tax assessments, and Department of Revenue petitions and guardianships. He also worked in non-senior law areas, including business registration filings, operating agreements, corporate bylaws, and trademark registration. He has advised numerous clients on estate planning needs and designed multiple custom estate plans to reduce estate taxes and protect assets from long-term care costs.

Prior to his time with RHP Law Group and shifting his legal focus to elder law, Young spent part of six years with the law firm of Kessler Topaz Meltzer Check, LLP in Radnor, serving first as a staff attorney and then as a researcher. His work supported active securities fraud cases and securities and consumer class action litigation. Young spent time as a contract attorney for several different law firms in the Philadelphia area, as well as a staff attorney at Dechert, LLP from 2005 to 2010, working primarily in business law litigation.

A native of New York, Young graduated magna cum laude in 2004 from New York Law School, where he was a member of the New York Law School Law Review. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communication arts from Hofstra University.
